Notes on St. James’ Parish Church

The stained glass found in the window in the Chancel was given to the church in 1924 by the Government of Canada in commemoration of persons who died in the First World War (WW1). The design represents the Ascension. The stained glass in the Lady Chapel (area behind the choir stalls), represents the tropical colours of Barbados and comprises over 950 pieces of stained glass which have been fused together to create the design. The stained glass in the Baptistry is a representation of St. Philip baptizing the Eunuch of Ethiopia. This story was taken from the Book of Acts, chapter 8, verses 26 - 39. Please note the notice board beside this stained glass. The actual reading has been placed there.
