1. The Lord is my shepherd;*
    I shall not be in want.

  2. He makes me lie down in green pastures*
    and leads me beside still waters.

  3. He revives my soul*
    and guides me along right pathways for his name's sake.

  4. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil;*
    for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

  5. You spread a table before me in the presence of those who trouble me;*
    you have anointed my head with oil, and my cup is running over.

  6. Surely your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,*
    and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen.
  1. The Lord's my Shepherd, I'll not want.
    He makes me down to lie
    In pastures green; He leadeth me
    The quiet waters by.

  2. My soul He doth restore again;
    And me to walk doth make
    Within the paths of righteousness,
    Even for His own Name's sake.

  3. Yea, though I walk in death's dark vale,
    Yet will I fear no ill;
    For Thou art with me; and Thy rod
    And staff me comfort still.

  4. My table Thou hast furnished
    In presence of my foes;
    My head Thou dost with oil anoint,
    And my cup overflows.

  5. Goodness and mercy all my life
    Shall surely follow me;
    And in God's house for evermore
    My dwelling place shall be.
  1. THE Lord is my shepherd: therefore can I lack nothing.

  2. He shall feed me in a green pasture. and lead me forth beside the waters of comfort.

  3. He shall convert my soul and bring me forth in the paths of righteousness for his Name's sake.

  4. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff comfort me.

  5. Thou shalt prepare a table before me, against them that trouble me: thou hast anointed my head with oil and my cup shall be full.

  6. But thy loving-kindness and mercy shall follow me, all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

  7. Glory to the Father, and to the Son:
    and to the Holy Ghost;
    as it was in the beginning is now
    and ever shall be
    world without end. Amen.
  1. As the deer longs for the water-brooks, *
    so longs my soul for you, O God.

  2. My soul is athirst for God, athirst for the living God; *
    when shall I come to appear before the presence of God?

  3. My tears have been my food day and night, *
    while all day long they say to me,
    "Where now is your God?"

  4. I pour out my soul when I think on these things: *
    how I went with the multitude and led them into the house of God,

  5. With the voice of praise and thanksgiving, *
    among those who keep holy-day.

  6. Why are you so full of heaviness, O my soul? *
    and why are you so disquieted within me?

  7. Put your trust in God; *
    for I will yet give thanks to him,
    who is the help of my countenance, and my God.

  8. My soul is heavy within me; *
    therefore I will remember you from the land of Jordan,
    and from the peak of Mizar among the heights of Hermon.

  9. One deep calls to another in the noise of your cataracts;*
    all your rapids and floods have gone over me.

  10. The Lord grants his loving-kindness in the daytime; *
    in the night season his song is with me,
    a prayer to the God of my life.

  11. I will say to the God of my strength,
    "Why have you forgotten me? *
    and why do I go so heavily while the enemy oppresses me?"

  12. While my bones are being broken, *
    my enemies mock me to my face;

  13. All day long they mock me *
    and say to me, "Where now is your God?"

  14. Why are you so full of heaviness, O my soul? *
    and why are you so disquieted within me?

  15. Put your trust in God; *
    for I will yet give thanks to him,
    who is the help of my countenance, and my God.
  1. God is our refuge and strength, *
    a very present help in trouble.

  2. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be moved, *
    and though the mountains be toppled into the
    depths of the sea;

  3. Though its waters rage and foam, *
    and though the mountains tremble at its tumult.

  4. The LORD of hosts is with us; *
    the God of Jacob is our stronghold.

  5. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, *
    the holy habitation of the Most High.

  6. God is in the midst of her;
    she shall not be overthrown; *
    God shall help her at the break of day.

  7. The nations make much ado, and the kingdoms are shaken; *
    God has spoken, and the earth shall melt away.

  8. The LORD of hosts is with us; *
    the God of Jacob is our stronghold.

  9. Come now and look upon the works of the LORD, *
    what awesome things he has done on earth.

  10. It is he who makes war to cease in all the world; *
    he breaks the bow, and shatters the spear,
    and burns the shields with fire.

  11. "Be still, then, and know that I am God; *
    I will be exalted among the nations;
    I will be exalted in the earth."

  12. The LORD of hosts is with us; *
    the God of Jacob is our stronghold.

  1. GOD is our hope and strength:
    a very present help in trouble.

  2. Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be moved: and though the hills be carried into the midst · of the sea.

  3. Though the waters thereof rage and swell: and though the mountains shake at the tempest of the same.

  4. The rivers of the flood thereof, shall make glad the city · of God: the holy place of the tabernacle of the most Highest.

  5. God is in the midst of her, therefore shall she not be removed: God shall help her and that right early.

  6. The heathen make much ado and the kingdoms are moved: but God hath shewed his voice and the earth shall melt away.

  7. The Lord of hosts is with us: the God of Jacob is our refuge.

  8. O come hither, and behold the works · of the Lord: what destruction · he hath brought upon the earth.

  9. He maketh wars to cease in all the world: he breaketh the bow, and knappeth the spear in sunder and burneth the chariots in the fire.

  10. Be still then, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, and I will be exalted in the earth.

  11. The Lord of hosts is with us: the God of Jacob is our refuge.
  1. Save me, O God, *
    for the waters are come in even unto my soul.

  2. I stick fast in the deep mire where no ground is
    I am come into deep waters so that the floods run over me

  3. I am weary of crying, my throat is dry :
    my sight faileth me for waiting so long upon the God.

  4. They that hate me without a cause
    are more than the hairs of my head :
    they that are mine enemies,
    and would destroy me guiltless are mighty.

  5. I paid them things that I never took :
    God, thou knowest my simpleness,
    and my faults are not hidden from you.

  6. Let not them that trust in thee O Lord God of hosts,
    be ashamed for my cause :
    let not those that seek thee be confounded through me,
    O Lord God of Israel.

  7. And why? For thy sake I have suffered reproof :
    shame hath covered my face.

  8. I am become a stranger unto my brethren :
    even an alien unto my mother’s children

  9. For the zeal for thine house hath even eaten me :
    And the rebukes of them that rebuked thee are fallen upon me.

  10. I wept and chastened myself with fasting :
    and that was turned to my reproof.

  11. I put on sackcloth also :
    and they jested upon me.

  12. They that sit in the gate speak against me, :
    and the drunkards make songs upon me.

  13. But Lord I make my prayer unto thee :
    in an acceptable time

  14. Hear me O God, in the multitude of the mercy :
    even in the truth of thy salvation.

  15. Take me out of the mire that I sink not :
    O let me be delivered from them that hate me
    and out of the deep waters.

  16. Let not the water-flood drown me,
    neither let the deep swallow me up :
    and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me

  17. Hear me O Lord, for thy loving kindness is comfortable :
    turn thee unto me according to the multitudes of thy mercies.

  18. And hide not thy face from thy servant for I am in trouble :
    O haste thee and hear me
  1. Lord, you have been our refuge *
    from one generation to another.

  2. Before the mountains were brought forth,
    or the land and the earth were born, *
    from age to age you are God.

  3. You turn us back to the dust and say, *
    "Go back, O child of earth."

  4. For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday
    when it is past *
    and like a watch in the night.

  5. You sweep us away like a dream; *
    we fade away suddenly like the grass.

  6. In the morning it is green and flourishes; *
    in the evening it is dried up and withered.

  7. For we consume away in your displeasure; *
    we are afraid because of your wrathful indignation.

  8. Our iniquities you have set before you, *
    and our secret sins in the light of your countenance.

  9. When you are angry, all our days are gone; *
    we bring our years to an end like a sigh.

  10. The span of our life is seventy years,
    perhaps in strength even eighty; *
    yet the sum of them is but labor and sorrow,
    for they pass away quickly and we are gone.

  11. Who regards the power of your wrath? *
    who rightly fears your indignation?

  12. So teach us to number our days *
    that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.

  13. Return, O LORD; how long will you tarry? *
    be gracious to your servants.

  14. Satisfy us by your loving-kindness in the morning; *
    so shall we rejoice and be glad all the days of our life.

  15. Make us glad by the measure of the days that you afflicted us *
    and the years in which we suffered adversity.

  16. Show your servants your works *
    and your splendor to their children.

  17. May the graciousness of the LORD our God be upon us; *
    prosper the work of our hands;
    prosper our handiwork.
  1. I love the Lord, because he has heard the voice of my supplication,*
    because he has inclined his ear to me whenever I called upon him.

  2. The cords of death entangled me; the grip of the grave took hold of me;*
    I came to grief and sorrow.

  3. Then I called upon the name of the Lord:*
    "O Lord, I pray you, save my life."

  4. Gracious is the Lord and righteous;*
    our God is full of compassion.

  5. The Lord watches over the innocent;*
    I was brought very low, and he helped me.

  6. Turn again to your rest, O my soul,*
    for the Lord has treated you well.

  7. For you have rescued my life from death,*
    my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.

  8. I will walk in the presence of the Lord*
    in the land of the living.

  9. I believed, even when I said, "I have been brought very low."*
    In my distress I said, "No one can be trusted."

  10. How shall I repay the Lord*
    for all the good things he has done for me?

  11. I will lift up the cup of salvation*
    and call upon the name of’ the Lord.

  12. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord*
    in the presence of all his people.

  13. Precious in the sight of the Lord*
    is the death of his servants,
    O Lord, I am your servant; *
    I am your servant and the clii Id of your handmaid;
    you have freed me from my bonds.

  14. Twill offer you the sacrifice of thanksgiving*
    and call upon the name of the Lord.

  15. Twill fulfil my vows to the Lord*
    in the presence of all his people.

  16. In the courts of the Lord’s house,*
    in the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
  1. Out of the depths have I called to you, O LORD;
    LORD, hear my voice; *
    let your ears consider well the voice of my supplication.

  2. If you, LORD, were to note what is done amiss, *
    O LORD, who could stand?

  3. For there is forgiveness with you; *
    therefore you shall be feared.

  4. I wait for the LORD; my soul waits for him; *
    in his word is my hope.

  5. My soul waits for the LORD,
    more than watchmen for the morning, *
    more than watchmen for the morning.

  6. O Israel, wait for the LORD, *
    for with the LORD there is mercy;

  7. With him there is plenteous redemption, *
    and he shall redeem Israel from all their sins.
